Teaching and learning are key components of international education. But there’s a problem in the paradigm: Scholars can’t agree on a shared framework to describe the teaching and learning that occurs in international education programs.
Over twenty terms are used to describe this part of the learning experience (Laux, 2021), and none of them grasps the breadth and depth of student learning. To address this issue, QCS created the Global Engagement Education Framework. This approach to curriculum design holistically supports students’ ability to understand, navigate, and build relationships in globally diverse environments. The framework focuses on worldview, global learning, and intercultural competence. Each component addresses a different but interdependent aspect of effectively engaging with different cultures. |
